I am Brenda Martinez, a current Fashion Design major student at the University of North Texas at Denton. As a fashion student I work hard to develop and gain skills in designing my clothes. I have learned that in this industry it is all about hard work and always being on top of things such as always staying in the trend with fashion. The moment I realized this was for me was the first time I ever touched a sewing machine. I got so fascinated with the idea of being able to create something I could call my own. When designing, my inspirations come from things that fascinate me or things I hope to encounter soon in my life. When it comes down to designing, i like to incorporate different techniques such as embellishments,appliques,fabric manipulations, color blocking and laser cutting into my clothes. Incorporating techniques in a garment is something that a garment should always have. It's what makes the design speak for itself. My goal is to share my fascinations and passions through my work. Overall, the journey hasn't been an easy one but I'm thankful for all the struggles and challenges I have faced while studying fashion design. It has helped me become the designer I am now. My goal is to make my client feel good when they step into that garment. Their satisfaction along with their smile is what makes me become a better designer.
